The mission of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of the Two Year College is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and 12 credit hours of college level courses are automatically sent invitations to membership each spring and fall semester. After joining, students must maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. Over 35 million dollars in scholarships are available each year to members of Phi Theta Kappa.
